PRE APPRENTICESHIP TRADES COURSES
Due to high demand and need for trades related professionals in the region, FutureCOL has introduced new exciting trades courses in; Hospitality, Painting and Decorating, Joinery, Furniture Making and Building. These pre-apprenticeship programmes assist younger students in making the transition from high school into a trade where skills learnt combined with work experience prepares students for a profession with a future. These courses have an open entry so students can enroll at anytime throughout the year.

HIGH LEVEL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS WHILE YOU WORK
To meet the requests of working people wishing to study for higher level business administration qualifications without leaving their work, FutureCOL is currently developing a part-time version of its highly successful full-time BUSINESS / OFFICE ADMINISTRATION programme. This will be delivered outside of work hours via workshops, and with study guides and telephone support. For those already working in those fields within the course content may gain recognition via RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) where verification of knowledge and skills can be undertaken in the workplace instead of a classroom. Commencing in 2007 ready for those wishing to start the new year with goals of a recognised qualification, new skills and perhaps even a new job as a result of training.

LICENCE CONTROLLER QUALIFICATION
With changes in the hospitality industry, the Licence Controller Qualification replaces the NZQA unit standards found in the old now redundant Bar Managers Licence. The LCQ qualification is required by all staff updating their qualifications or new staff entering the industry.
