INTRODUCTION TO HOSPITALITY

INTRODUCTORY PROFESSIONAL COOKERY
This programme is suited to people wishing to gain employment in the hospitality industry to develop sound basic hospitality skills that lead towards training at a higher level. Students learn the base skills and the appropriate cookery, food handling, hygiene skills and the qualifications required for employment as a bakery assistant, Cafe assistant, entry level cook, grill chef, and many more.

Qualification:
National Certificate in Hospitality (Introductory Cookery) Level 2

PROFESSIONAL CHEF IN CULINARY ARTS

Students are provided with a wide range of hospitality related skills in cookery, food and beverage service. All training is undertaken in a practical 'hands on' environment within our training kitchen, cafe and restaurant, in-house functions and cafe service

Qualifications: National Certificate in Hospitality (Cookery) Level 3
National Certificate in Hospitality (Food & Beverage Service) Level 3
Optional: City & Guilds Diploma in Culinary Arts 7065/12

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE LEVEL 3

Gain the knowledge to work in the hospitality industry as a Bar person or as a part of a team in Waiting staff. Develop skills to manage people and manage situations such as dealing with an angry customer, protect people and property within the establishment, and maintain a responsible drinking environment for patrons.

Qualifications: National Certificate in Hospitality (Food & Beverage Service) Level 3-includes Certificate of Achievement in customer service, Hospitality Operations and Barista

CHEF MODERN APPRENTICESHIP LEVEL 3/4

Many of the people working within this industry have gained industry experience and skills while working on the job. This course will provide you with the opportunity to gain formal qualifications and gain the extra knowledge necessary to formalise your skills with the nationally recognised qualification of a National Certificate in Hospitality (Cookery) Level 3/4.

INDUSTRY FOOD HYGIENE - LEVELS 1,2 & 3

These three Council approved programmes cover all the food hygiene requirements as required to meet local councils' compliancy for food establishments.

Qualification: NZQA Unit Standard 167 and/or 168
FutureCOL Certificate Level 3-Food Safety Planning/HACCP

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PRACTICING INDUSTRY CHEFS

This programme provides the basis of computing skills suitable for staircasing onto higher level programmes or straight into employment. This extensive programme covers a wide range of popular Microsoft applications as demanded by industry. The assessment for a International Computer Drivers Licence is an excellent qualification for those students travelling overseas as it is recognised internationally.

Qualification: National Certificate in Computing Level 3
Optional: International Drivers Licence qualification.

BARISTA SKILLS

This short course is designed to develop coffee skills to a level required by local café, restaurants and wineries. This course is only delivered by FutureCOL and is in support of the local hospitality industry.

Qualification: HSI Certificate of acheivement-Barista Units towards National Certificate in Hospitality (Food & Beverage) Level 3

CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS

This short course is designed to improve your hospitality employment potential and covers a wide range of topics including: Customer service Handling complaints Providing information on your establishment Learning about the diversity of the work place you work in.

Qualification: HSI Certificate of Acheivement- Customer Service Units towards National Certificate in Hospitality (Food & Beverage) Level 3

LIQUOR LICENCE CONTROLLER QUALIFICATIONS

This short course is a transitional test and is suited for obtaining Licence Controller qualifications.

Qualification: Transitional Testing/NZQA Units 4646, 16705
