FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICE LEVEL 3

Aims and objectives

Provide students with hospitality related skills of food and beverage service. All training is undertaken in a practical ‘hands on’ environment within FutureCOL’s training kitchen, café and restaurant with in-house functions and café service.

Gain the knowledge to work in the hospitality industry as a Bar Person or as part of a team in Waiting Staff. Develop skills to manage people and manage situations such as dealing with an angry customer, protect people and property within the establishment, and maintain a responsible drinking environment for patrons.

The beverage content covers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages through to coffee preparation skills. Alcohol content includes wine evaluation and cocktail making. Coffee making includes all the coffee skills found in any modern café.

This blend of skills provides a sound basis for employment as students gain skills, confidence and working knowledge to be prepared for the extremely busy environment of the industry.



Entry criteria
No formal academic qualification is necessary, however a level of academic and practical ability is necessary to complete the course. This is essential to gain benefit from the course.
