Aims and objectives

This course offers learners with a sound working knowledge of computers and an opportunity to gain competency in a range of graphic art skills. Learning combines art with graphic software such as Macromedia Studio MX and Adobe Photoshop. Competencies are developed for the rapidly growing industry of computer graphic art.



Entry criteria
In order to gain benefit from this course, and to keep up with content, students mush have at least a sound working knowledge of computers and/or the NZQA Level 3 computing certificate. No formal qualifications are required if students can demonstrate the required skill level. A short aptitude test is available if students are unsure if their skills meet the required level.

Quals

• National Certificate in Design (Level 3)
• FutureCOL Certificate in Graphic Design

The option is given to sit and obtain the International Macromedia or/and Adobe Certification at the end of the course.  The exams can be sat at the Pearson VUE Testing Centre onsite at FutureCOL.
